An Inside Look
OneWorld Spotlight
Amy Lacroix, MD, Pediatric Physician, began practicing pediatric medicine in 1994 after graduating from UNMC’s College of Medicine and completing her pediatric training in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She has been part of the team at the OneWorld Teen and Young Adult Health Centers for the past seven years.
“I have been practicing mostly adolescent and young adult health care for the past 10 years or so,” said Amy. “The Teen and Young Adult Health Centers have supportive, trusting environments where youth can come for all of their health care needs.”
A constant learner, Amy is currently learning how to paddle board and improving her Spanish speaking skills. Amy took Latin in high school and French in college, but she regularly uses Spanish at the Teen and Young Adult Health Centers to better communicate and connect with her patients.
Amy loves strong cups of tea, walks and bike rides, horse shows and traveling. Next on her list of places to visit is Alaska, which she hopes to visit during the upcoming summer. In addition to traveling to new places, she and her husband of 33 years will be first-time grandparents this August.
Throughout her medical career, Amy has remained passionate about adolescent care.
“Adolescents and young adults want accurate and respectful health care and I feel privileged to provide that for my patients at the Teen and Young Adult Health Centers,” said Amy.
