OneWorld spotlight
Elisa Wiest, DDS, joined the OneWorld Dental team in 2016. Throughout her 16 years of practicing dentistry, Dr. Wiest has worked at the Douglas County Health Center, Emergency Dental and several private practices in the Omaha area.
“I have never worked anywhere that had a team of employees so caring and compassionate. OneWorld sees a need and finds ways to be helpful.”
Dr. Wiest earned her doctorate of dental surgery degree at the UNMC College of Dentistry. During her time in dental school, she traveled to Honduras and helped with pop-up dental clinics in remote villages.
“We set up shop in churches or even on porches and did treatment with flashlights because there was no electricity.”
This experience inspired Dr. Wiest to help underserved populations access and receive high quality dental care.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Wiest enjoys reading, crossword puzzles and swimming. She and her husband also enjoy attending her son’s sporting events and taking care of their two rescue dogs.
