OneWorld Spotlight: Courtney Nelson
Director of Nursing Courtney Nelson, RN, MSN, joined OneWorld in 2017, having worked in a variety of clinical settings over her 27 years of being a nurse. For Courtney, supporting the OneWorld mission is a highlight of her job.
“It is gratifying to hear the stories of patients and community that we serve,” Courtney said. “I enjoy my coworkers and coming to work every day!”
Courtney graduated from the diploma program at Jennie Edmundson School of Nursing, then went on to earn both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from Capella University. Prior to joining OneWorld, Courtney worked as a nurse on a military base, for the state of Iowa, for a large health care organization in Omaha and in juvenile corrections.
Outside of work, she keeps busy with hobbies, community and family. A gardener, Courtney uses her green thumb to tend to her flowers; she also tends to others as a board member of her local church. Courtney enjoys family time with her husband and two adult sons.
