Expanding Space, Enhancing Care
OneWorld Pharmacy reopens with bigger, brighter space
For more than 10 years, the OneWorld Community Health Centers Pharmacy has worked to provide every patient affordable medications. Now, with a fresh new look, the pharmacy has more space to continue providing high-quality care for all.
“The remodel allows for more comfortable waiting space for patients, an inviting atmosphere and an expanded room for employees to work that allows for future growth opportunities,” said Coleen Schrage, Pharm D., Pharmacy Director.
Affordability is often a barrier that stands between a person receiving medication to treat illnesses and disease. The OneWorld Pharmacy offers a variety of services to help overcome those barriers including the 340B medication discount, the Medication Assistance Program for uninsured patients and free delivery.
Earlier this month, the pharmacy began using a new compliance box-packaging machine to assist patients in reminding them to take their medications.
“Taking their medications on a regular basis allows patients to have a better quality of life and assists them with meeting their health care goals,” said Coleen.
The pharmacy staff goes beyond providing medication through Medication Therapy Management. This program allows staff to review patients’ medications to see when they are filled and to optimize their therapeutic outcome.
“This service aims to improve outcomes by helping people to better understand their health conditions and medications used to manage them,” said Coleen. “We also provide education about their disease states and review potential side effects with our patients.”
In addition to the Livestock Exchange Health Campus location, the pharmacy has two delegated dispensing licenses at both Teen and Young Adult Health Centers to assist in providing family planning options for patients.
With a brighter, more open space, the OneWorld Pharmacy is more prepared than ever to provide excellent care for every patient who walks through the doors.
